The hearing aid is a wonderful invention which has allowed many people to hear effectively again. However, hearing aids do require regular care and attention to stay in top condition. Every time you remove the hearing aid from your ear you should inspect it and clean it. Don’t use water or other cleaning fluids as you may damage it. Use a dry cloth or tissue. If you don’t wear your hearing aid for a period of time (overnight, for example) you should open the battery compartment to aid air circulation.
